Bad algae barn! I’m let down

I received my order from Algae barn of CS and cheato and there were white shells,rocks,snails??? I’ve Contacted algae barn twice within 24 hours and have not got any feedback with my information and pictures that I sent them. Can anybody tell me what this is. I currently have my macro allergies in a quarantine tank

Just my opinion, and it ain't worth much, added chaeto for filtration is good, adding it for adding pods , and other critters is good, if you want a steril tank, well eventully mother nature will win out, a fish a rock or algea will eventually add something to the tank. You can fight it, or embrace it as a wouderful thing, part of the beauty of salt water is all of the life forms that evolve and eventually find there way into our tanks. Some good some not so. Some come in like a plague, then seem to just dissappear on there on. If you are going to have certian fish, the pod population will be greatly improved with the chateo. I wouldn't worry with the white calcium like formations, looks like the small tube worms that form in time in the bottom of the sumps . If you are concerened just keep it quartined. Wash it in some freash clorinated water and rinse it out in a bucket several times, that should kill off any unwanted critters. Hope this helps. Looks like you have a good set up going.

1st pic looks like it coupd be a sprirobid worm. Harmless filter feeder if that's what it is.

Most likely beneficial creatures you have there on that cheato.

Your welcome, i hope you enjoy your new tank build. As the cheato grows you can rinse it a bucket of water when you do a water change, you will be suprised how much stuff it picks up out of the water, and don't be afraid to divide it and share some with others, its a good way to diversify your and others pod population.

Thanks for the opinions/input everyone. I’m currently culturing pods and plan to get a manderian. I only have 2 clown fish’s at the moment. I have 2 qt for corals and 1 qt for just fish. Doing it right this time around

Hello! We have sent you multiple emails regarding this, and mentioned that occasionally you will find empty spirorbid shells or other discarded shells that have stuck to the chaeto, however we go through a very rigorous process to ensure that all that is left is something not living, and that should not harm your tank in any way. While I have already approved your AoA claim yesterday, and sent 3-4 emails regarding this issue, we are definitely short handed right now with half of our team currently setting up at macna. I mentioned this in the email as well regarding the delayed reply, however we were able to respond within 24 hours of the initial request, and setup a shipment for when everyone returns. We are truly sorry for the scare, I am positive it is nothing that can cause you damage, but fresh new chaeto is going to be on its way on the 3rd or 4th next week!

Ohh man thank you so soo much I feel completely at ease. OCD like crazy and I qt everything so I try my best to get the best. Faith is restored. Sorry if I sounded like a A**hole lol I was super worried.
