I came home and did a once over my reef tank, and there was my purple fire fish being eaten by snails
.
Had been with me since 2015. Examined him outside the tank saw no parasites or fin damage. Was full grown when i got him, no idea of age before purchase. Checked my temp, salinity and alkalinity. Changed my gac reactor and did a 20% wc. First saltwater fish ive lost that wasnt from jumping
. Only other fish a clown pair seemed fine.
Walk outside and my pond is half full. Seal broke to my filter and was slowly dumping water out. Refilled with about 400 gallons of water. And turned on some auxiliary pumps to keep the water moving. Didnt see any fatalities but there was a raccoon trying. I also dont have an accurate count, ~20 fish a few offspring survive each season. Cleaned the filter will see if i just need a new gasket.
Thankfully nothing going on in my planted.
