Anyone ever get bad Hanna reagent? I bought DkH reagent the other day and it was reading that my levels were 5.3 but when I picked up another bottle to make sure it was reading 10.7. Was just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.

Yes I have had inconsistencies between different bottles of alkalinity reagent.
Plus last week I had a packet of the high range nitrate reagent that looked weird. So I ran the test and my nitrates were less than 1. I then ran a test with a normal looking one and got around 40, which is what I expected.

I’m back on salifert for dkh. Hanna alk reagent is pricey given the amount of tests and the bottle always leaks on me in the case. Also finding reagent locally that’s not expired is a pain. And worrying about good reagent is just too many downsides for me.

Problems with the reagents are legendary even between the time a bottle is opened and a month or two later.
