Bad news id please

In the very center of the picture. A the top of the coral, it sways with the flow and looks like 5-6 "fingers". Can someone break the bad news to me gently lol

It looks like a feather duster to me, and if that's the case it's really not bad news. Yay for "not bad news"!

If it pulls the "fingers in and out it may be a type of fan worm or someone told me once it was a barnacle, but I'm not sure on that id.

Yea, look up barnacle feeding
