Is this a normal bristleworm or something bad? A little over an inch long. He was in my rock.

They can eat up detritus in places other critters cannot get but they are ugly. Looks like a regular bristleworm but I could be wrong. Those things can get big and scary. I have a few that are about 8 inches.

Fire worm by the looks of it.These you will want to try and eradicate. They can wreak havoc on hard or soft corals. I had a nice colony of red trumpets get massacered and I'm pretty sure these guys were the culprit and also lost some nice blastos..I started dipping after this..was a lesson learned. I actually removed all the frags and dipped them and added a melanarus wrasse.

And that's why I refuse to have any of them in the tank. Good or bad they're ugly and a pain one way or another. Lol

I got him out. I wonder if there are more.... (????!!!!!).
There very well could be. Eggs can hitchike in on frags. I removed 3 or 4 manually, one evening I shined a light in the tank and discovered more. The wrasse seemed to have done its job. Also Arrow crabs are known predators of Fire worms.
