I'm setting up my waterbox 45.2 and I'm on my 3rd pump what should I try next? I bought a Jabao 2500 and it worked great for a day then had trouble keeping constant RPM and that made the sump drain go crazy. I returned that bought a Sicce 1.5 that came in last night, its got some internal resonance that I cant seem to isolate, I think the impeller in unbalanced, that's going back to amazon as well. What should I try next? I just want something that can keep RPM and wont have internal resonance any suggestions? Looking for around 300/350GPH flow out of it, 500 is too much and I was running the Jabao at the lowest settings (which might be why it failed)

AC pump - Fluval SP2 Just make sure there’s enough space in the return chamber as the base is wide.
DC pump - Tunze 1073.05

Yes return/sump pump. The Ecotech and Gyre pumps are too powerful for this application I think. Same with the SP2 its over 1000gph, the drains on the waterbox aren't really designed for that much flow. I just need to circulate water into/out of the sump to feed my fuge/skimmer.

I was thinking maybe one of these but they look identical to the sicce pumps and I'm guessing they are built by the same Italian factory. https://www.marinedepot.com/Tunze_S...uarium_Powerheads-Tunze-TZ1737-FIPHFF-vi.html

That might be 7 1/2 inches with the intake barb that you won't need if its in sump

I went ahead and bought one, this will be pump #3 If this one rattles .... idk maybe a tunze DC pump. I'm kind of in an odd size range as the high end pumps are quite a bit bigger and has all sorts of stupid gimmicks like variable flow

There's a dc pump made in Germany with 10 year warranty, cost?
I'm old school, stick to Eheim, lifegard, I have a Eheim 20+years still running

That linked Tunze return pump is made by Sicce. Surprised you had issues with the Sicce. I’ve found them to be excellent small submersibles.

I might have just gotten unlucky or the 1.5 is just outside of the ideal size range for that housing. any idea if the tunze 050 dc pump is also a Italian sicce?

if that doesn't meet your expectations down the road, then take a look at the eheim compact 2100 or the eheim 1250

I bought the 1250 ehiem classic ~300 gph I’m sure it will be a bit louder for motor noise but if it doesn’t vibrate that’s good enough

I think so, yes.

both are pretty quiet in my experience.

i've been running the 1250 from my garage for water changes for years. pumps 15 feet linear and 4 feet vertical. no issues except for occasional vinegar soak due to salt mix residue.

I also ran the 2100 on my 40 gal system at work.

You may know this, so don't roast me, please.

The internal resonance could have been a simple as disassembling the impeller and reseating it. Sometimes things don't get aligned perfectly at the factory.

RO VarioS series. Been running a 4 on my 75 with no issues for a year and a half. Quiet as a mouse. Running at 65%
