Just got the 4 stage plus rodi unit from brs with the dual tds meter and pressure gauge I’m getting between 35-50 psi which I know is a little low, the recommend is 50 but the canister on top for the Dow membrane is leaking at the threads and I have it as tight as I can get it by hand. should I talk to them about a replacement or am I missing something? Also they say to flush it for the first hour or two, when I started it said I had 10 tds coming in and zero going out and after an hour it said I had 6 tds coming in and 0 going out. I’m on a 25 year old well I figured I’d have somewhere between 100-400 tds this seems way off considering I have a lot of rusty buildup in my sinks and showers that need to be cleaned every few months or so.. any explanations? I’m feeling like I received a bad rodi unit for the 240$ I paid for it

There’s a tool that should have come with it to tighten the top canister, looks like an open tennis racket. Did you use that to tighten it?

You should have a larger wrench for the prefilter canisters and a smaller wrench for the RO membrane canister. The RO membrane canister should have a black rubber o-ring inside to keep it water tight. Use the small wrench to open up the RO membrane canister and confirm that the I-ring is there and tighten it back up using the wrench.

Make sure the DI unit is pushed all the way in. If it is up just a little you will get the leak. The TDS numbers are correct. It is testing the water before and after the DI. The carbon blocks and prefilter are taking the rest out. My TDS is 20 - 30 from the tap. When I first turn on my RODI it reads around 5 going in and drops to 0 in about 30 minutes.
This video shows and explains about making sure the DI is all the way in and will cause your leak if not. Good Luck!

Thanks for the feedback guys I really appreciate it. I did not get a smaller wrench with the unit I only got the big one that looks like a tennis racket for the 3 bigger/lower membranes but I had a pipe wrench that worked for the smaller top membrane. That being said there was 2 o rings inside the canister (one on the end of the threads and one in the cap) the one in the cap was mangled up when it was assembled but I managed to reuse it and now it’s sealed up nicely without any leaks

I have never seen a membrane canister that uses two orings.
