Bad seam on glass aquarium

yes it is a seam that is seperating. how long till it does?? noone can say but my guess is quite some time based on the size of that tank. wanna take bets?? lol point is your best to just repair it

well its for sure coming apart but like mentioned who knows if it could happen tomorrow or 5 yrs from now.... i wouldnt risk setting it up and then having to tear it down full of livestock and chance losses and property damages... tanks seem to be the cheapest thing in this hobby so there fore i would just find a replacement now... if you tried to repair it the whole tank needs to taken apart because old silicone dont bond with new so it is a project....

can't swap it out since I built the tank myself. I have added water to the tank for a test.

I have that on my tank too. Dont know how long they have been there, but this tank is going on 8 years.

There is an inside bead of
silicone. The actual tank dimension is 60x30x18

it's hard to say whether or not you will be ok. I have a feeling it could be fine. I'll try to remember to look at my Glass Cages tank seams tonight (96"x24"x24")

I have some from my custom built tank. Here is what the tank builder has to say on it:
"What you are looking at is trapped gas which is left behind during the curing/vulcanization process. Silicone unfortunately cures from the outside in, with thick glass the silicone can sometimes leave some of this behind. This is nothing to worry about structurally, your aquarium is overbuilt. "

After reading my previous post you might not be as worried but I might be worried about that large white spot towards the top. Is that a big airspot? It looks pretty close to the inner tank silicone.
