Baffles or No Baffles?

If money is an issue and you are handy with tools, look for a used glass or acrylic tank.

If you have an in sump skimmer or plan on using one, I'd recommend at least one set of baffles.

Would a 75g tank fit under your stand? I would think a 40 breeder would be to small for your system.

Ya I could prob use a 75 under there, I'm just having a issue finding one at decent price rathe than going and buying one at pet shop....by time I do that I might as well buy a pre made sump, so many options lol

What are you using to build that?
Christian

I'm using 1/2 acrylic for everything here. Very expensive but I want the bulk. The two return pumps tie into the end of the tank and the recirc loop for skimmer and reactors are near the same end as the pumps but the bulkhead is on the back side. It's very custom to fit my existing stand and ties into my existing plumbing. My original sump was purchased 2nd hand. It was plenty large but realized it was designed for a much lower flow tank than I had built. It had a fuge in it so it needed a compartment with low flow. My tank is much bigger at 400 gallons and I plan on doing a fuge in a separate tank.

Wow I love it, sounds awesome!! I think I found a 75g I'm gonna get along with some more LR that the guy has.

I'm headed to Home Depot now to get material to start painting the stand
