So ive been dosing equal amounts of 2 part for a while now and everything was as it should be..however i tested my water today and my alk has gone up to 10.2 from 8.6 a week ago and calcium ha dropped from 420 to 380... whats the best way to rectify this to get it back in balance.. my normal oarameters are 8.6 alk and cal at 420...

Stop dosing alk and manually dose calcium in the same amount you have been. If it jeeps dropping then increase it with a half dose extra at a different time of day to smooth out the changes.
Depending on the two part you're using 'equal' amounts may not be the right solution.
The concentration could have changed also if you're mixing it yourself.

Test Alk 2x a week until it’s back in line. Are you maintaining water changes for magnesium depletion?

You should still be testing it to know when its time to maintain your minimum of 8.6 once it gets there.

Badically, yup! I just can't say if equal is the right combination since I'm probably not familiar with the 2 part you're using. They don't all call for equal amounts.

So test it again same time tomorrow and you'll know how fast it's dropping daily. If you feel it's too fast, give it a small bump to slow the drop.
