Hi everyone,

Just looking for some feedback relating to my Ca, Mg & Alk levels and trying to lock in the Balling dosing of Comp 123+.

I've finally arrived at a point where my Alk hasn't moved from 7.2dKH for almost a week now and my Mg was starting to show a similar trend @ 1330ppm (4 or so consecutive days with multiple tests per day showing the same reading) until last night when it went above the consistent point it had been setting.

My Ca wasn't dropping with my Alk after having them at equal doses for about a fortnight (there were still fluctuations during this time). It shot up fairly high so I halved the dose.

Latest measurements as of 4-5 hours ago.
Specific gravity - 1.026
Temp - 25.6 C
Alk - 7.2 dKH (24ml/day of Comp 2+)
Ca - 473ppm (10ml/day of Comp 1+ was 24)
Mg - 1360ppm (10ml/day of Comp 1+ was 24)
and 24ml/day of Comp 3+

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,
You should always dose all components equally. Unequal dosing will lead to imbalance in the system. In your case I will wait till the Ca falls down to where you want and then start dosing the components equally. In the mean time I will maintain the Ca and Alk level by adding the KH buffer and Ca solutions. Also, dont change the dosing just based on one test. It may rise and fall between 24 hour based on a lot of other parameters. So, always follow the trend and wait for 24 hours before you change the dosing.

Thanks for the insight.
It was all lining up so well, then Ca decided to do its own thing. I'll adjust with the stand alone after this morning's tests.

This is 12 hours after the last measurements.
I've pulled the doser offline until my Ca goes back to around 435.
I'll make some stand alone solutions today and dose to sustain my Alk and Mg. I like where they are sitting.
When I get to where I want it @Anirban should I just maintain with stand alone supps for a while or pop the doser back on at equal doses again?
If maintaining with stand alone supplements, how long do I hold it at those spots until it "locks in" and depletes simultaneously across all 3?

Once you are there you start dosing the components equally with doser and try to distribute the dosing amount all through out the day.

I have it on 24 dose cycle was 1ml/hr with 10 minute delay for each Component.

I just lowered the dose of all three to 10ml/day to have the Ca drop without the others falling out too much.

Update, Ca dropped a fair bit since I turned the doser off and then lowered the dose.
Parameters are actually looking amazing right now.
Going to see what it does over 24 hours and then adjust where necessary with stand alone supps and then increase Comp dosage across the board.
