I am wrestling with getting my nitrate and Phosphate balanced. I have all my other params locked in solid and I enjoy number chasing! Luckily, I am stable enough to chase nitrate and phosphate and they are close enough that I don’t think I can cause too much damage. I’m am wondering what is the best method to raise nitrate but not phosphate.

My params are:
1.026
Alk = 8.34 dkh
Calc = 435
Mag = 1400
Nitrate = 2.5 - 5
P04 = 0.08

My nitrate were up to 20 and my po4 was at 0.12. I reduced feeding, increased fuge light time, ran my skimmer 24/7, and used a tiny bit of GFO in a reactor. (all of this over the course of 2 months resulted in the above numbers) I would like to let my nitrates rise to 10 just to have a buffer but keep the po4 where it is.

Should I decrease my fuge light or run the skimmer on a reduced schedule?

Just dose nitrate if you want a higher nitrate concentration. You might drive yourself batty fiddling with feeding, photoperiods, GFO amounts, etc.
