My mag is about 800 or lower, calcium 360 I have been adding kent superbuffer dkh with my make up water every other day to keep it at 9. I have been adding seachem advantage mag to bring it up. When I add kalawser I get no mag reading I just can seem to keep things in balance. What am I doing wrong is there a guide line or an easy way to keep balanced. Im just frustrated any help will be greatly appreciated.

Is the super buffer the only supp. you're dosing? If so you will want to invest in a mag supp. as well as some Ca supp. I prefer Bionic two part and any Mag supp.

You can use a 2 part Alk and Calcium supplement since it is a balance additive and it will make dosing much easier. The home made version is the least expensive and my personal preference. You can also make your own mag supplement with Mag chloride and Epsom salt(Mag Sulfate). The recipes and products you need can be bought in bulk at Bulk Reef Supply - Bulk Reef Supply or www.buckeyefieldsupply.com. I've ordered from both and have had good service. You will probably have to add quite a bit of Magnesium to bring it up. I wouldn't raise it more than 100 ppm per day. Also here is a link to a calculator to make things easier. Reef Chemistry Calculator

You need to get your mag up, otherwise you will never get your alk and cal where you want it. mag needs to be 1300 or so, then cal and alk will fall in line. there are plenty of ways to bring your mag up, tech M, epsom salts, and some of those listed above. I think once you get the mag right, everything else will be fine.

One sure way to help stabilize your tank is to add more total tank volume. You can buy a 100 gallon agriculture container (rubbermaid) for less than $100.
