I came home and my MH was off. Not the bulb so it must be the ballast. Right now it is a gallaxy. Are must ballast compatible on the chord plug? Luxcore looks like the same as the gallaxy.

Any MH ballast I have seen with a detachable power cord is the same. Same as you would find on most computers and peripherals. Just make sure the cable is about the same thickness.

I worded this wrong. I am referring to the light socket to the ballast. Not the wall to the ballast. I need the ballast to plug into my reflectors, without having to hard wire them.

Those are usually the same also but the mogul socket is usually hardwired to the cord which then plugs into a pigtail on the ballast. I have used 3 different ballasts on mine and the plugs have always been interchangeable.

Thanks, my system is SE with a strange looking plug from socket to ballast. I searched and it seems you are right many look the same. Except for current and a few others. On those the plug is visibly different.
