As you may already know, Baltic Birch is not available, as it is from Russia. A good substitute is Canusa Woods Birch. It is Five ply, verses 13 ply for the Baltic Birch, but I heard a rumor, they were going up on their ply’s. It’s available in 1/2” , 3/4” and 1” thickness. I think Lowe’s Plywood that is finished (Varnished) on one side is CANUSA. Independent Lumber Sellers are likely to carry it.
 
I’m feeling lost in the woods after reading this post. I hope it helps out folks who are building stands at home, something not in my skill set.
