I’m really asking for help
The advice has been given over and over. The animal needs to go somewhere else.
Look at this https://lareefclub.com/community/
Maybe post there and see if you can save this animal by finding it a proper home. That is the right thing to do, and the only chance it has at surviving.

Seriously people.

Let's be real here. RETURN THIS POOR ANIMAL TO THE STORE. IT IS GOING TO DIE.

You're all being so nice but this guy clearly has no idea what hes doing. Look at his tank look at his set up. He literally has fresh water set up with a tank.

I've seen this guy multiple times on here. ticks me off this poor animal is suffering and theres a 99% chance its going to die
Agree my friend, remember we are a society where everyone gets a trophy, so it’s best to walk on egg shells and tippy toe so we don’t offend anyone. Sad but true

I'm going to be completely honest with you. People like you tick me off. People like you treat these poor marine animals with less regard. This poor shark has been suffering in your possession for almost 48 hours. You dove into this hobby not knowing a dang thing.

Do some freaking research, do something. Im in complete disgust with you.
Ppl like u tick me off not helping just being unkind obviously we all know the situation we should help deal with it than speaking the obvious

Yes, but apparently stating the obvious is deemed “not helpful”. OP doesn’t know what he’s doing, this tank isn’t even remotely close to what’s needed, this is borderline (if not outright) animal cruelty and there are enough safety issues with this setup that I’d be less concerned with the shark at this point... I don’t see how encouraging bad or irresponsible behaviour can even be encouraged.
Couldn't agree more. If today was spent trying to find the animal a proper home I imagine that would be a great step forward in saving its life. The unrealistic chances of teaching him how to take care of a shark in there just takes the animal closer to death.

I think he’s already agreed to return the shark. Perhaps he’s young or very inexperienced and got awful advice from other people. Not everyone is aware there is this huge forum with lots of advice until after the fact.

Would petco be a good place?
Try making an account here, offer it to someone who has a proper home. You can say you aren't sure how to take care of it and that may incline someone local to step in and help it.

Considering the time of day. The fact that there are no local fish store near lake Charles why don’t you be helpful

Tonight best you can do is water changes if you have enough salt. Do at least 50% now, and another in a couple hours if you can’
Also if you can’t immediately find another tank, buy some Seachem Prime first thing in the morning. Per o should have it and It’ll help make the ammonia less toxic.
Okayyyy

can your friend hold until tank is more prepared? also leaning to rehome.
be ready and know what you are doing before getting sensitive fish, rt now ATM .water change ,more topwater agitation ,ammo ,depletes oxygen,

@Jordan1050064 i know some people are being mean, but you’re doing the right thing and it’s pretty hard to accept a mistake and do the right thing like you are. Most people here really are friendly, and they know a lot, been doing this for decades.
