Banded Bamboo shark tank size

Currently have a bamboo egg in a 60 gallon. About 2 weeks from hatching.

Getting plan together for the forever home.

My hearts set on a 72x30x30 (280 gallons)

Some people say that's adequate and some say heck no. (Google says 180 gallons is fine but I have a heart lol)

Your thoughts????

Do yo my hallways desighn I could squeeze a 76x32x30. (325 gallons)

But that's the best I likely can do.

The 72x30x30 includes a gorgeous stand and canopy and is $5300 usd after taxes delivered and set up (this does not include any filtration)

I have not priced a 76x32x30 yet, but I assume under 6k usd

Opinions on these tank sizes for 1 banded Bamboo shark and 1 blue spotted stingray

(Stingray is a want but not a must have)

I have the exact tank you are considering. 72x30x30 with stand and canopy. It barely, and I mean barely, fit through the doorway. Had to remove the door and part of the door frame to get it through. The tank will fit without an issue... it's the stand that is the problem. The stand has trim and the trim extends 4+" beyond the tank dimensions, thus not fitting through the door. Keep that in mind as you look for a larger tank. Unless you are taking it straight through a 40 or larger door, you will likely run into issues.

That is just for the tank; does not include tax or set up, etc.

I had the 72x30x36 priced as well as 76x30x30 - Turns out that 72 and 30 are sweet spots for glass as they are standard sizes for tanks. 36 increased price by 10% and the 76 option by about 15%. Hence why I stuck with the 72x30x30

This is the style I get for 5300 delivered. My door entry is double door and 6 feet wide so not a problem.

The stand sticks out 4 inches more than the tank???

The trim on my stand is a bit more ornate... See pic. The one that you are looking is a little different. It looks like it will extend a bit beyond the tank, but not the 4" that I had to deal with. It looks more like 2 inches...
Regardless, measure the stand, not the tank for placement.

No shark in my tank. I have a host of fish though... you can see 7 in the quick pic I just took, and that's about 1/2 the fish.

I had a baby bamboo in a standard 220 and he only lasted about a year and a half. He was happy and healthy till I think the stress set in with not enough open room. The good news is I gave him to a friend at seaworld where he grew up happy in a outdoor kinda petting pond they used to have. Im guessing the pond held about 600 being it was only a foot or so deep? There is a dude selling a 300 low boy on here that I think if set up peninsula would be a great home for both. Sorry just a thought.

I think the 220 was 72x24x30. The low boy is in the classifieds under aquariums you cant miss it brand new and a good price. Almost bought it for my upgrade.

Thinking for the shark- you could build a way better home for him(or her) at 1/4th the price from wood(old school). Think of the bottom being a 4' x 8' sheet of plywood-that's 92" x 48". Maybe 24" deep. I'd make it so the top of the tank was about mid chest level, that way I could stand and look down into the tank. Would also put a mostly glass front piece so I could sit in a chair and look in at it.

also 30 inches tall is deceivingly rough. Im 6'5 and my 24'' deep 90 is a pain
