Hey everyone. My banded trochus snails are broadcast spawning in my 20g. It's fairly new and currently has snails and 2 coral - no fish yet.

My questions:
Should I do a major wc? If so, what percent? I don't want a tank full of baby snails and I'm concerned about water quality.

Should I remove one of the banded snails so I won't deal with this in the future? 20g tank isn't much and theres quite a lot of eggs floating about.

If I keep both snails in there and consider this a food source (of course not a main food source but a 'snack' for future tank inhabitants) - what sort of fish/creatures would consider snails broadcast spawning a feast?

Pic is below - all the things floating in the water column that look like bubbles are actually eggs.

Agree. A small percentage will make it to adulthood and you can give or sell any that survive. Once you have fish they will learn to appreciate the extra meal with spawns.

Gotcha, thanks! I'll leave them in. There was so much in the tank I wasn't sure how many would be successful - worried about the die off and if calcium would be depleted substantially if a ton started growing.
