Banded Trochus snails eating Coralline algae?

Has anyone ever noticed this before? My tank has been set up for almost 7 years now and the back glass seems to be dwindling in Coralline growth. (20 gallon) I've had this snail for well over a year and to tell you the truth I'm surprised it's still alive, being that there's really no nuisance algae in the tank, but the purple has gone missing lately. I know it's not the Asterina stars because I've already mowed them down to nothing, but I was just curious if anyone has experienced this before. Thanks.

Have you made any changes to your lighting. Honestly and this is just my opinion I do not believe that Trochus snails have the means to take hard coral and algae off.

Nope... I've been running the same lighting since the beginning. (changing the bulbs out each year of course)

What style of lighting are you using also what are your parameters

One 175 watt 20K Hamilton bulb along with two T5 actinics over a standard 20 gallon tank. Here's an older picture just to give you an idea of what I'm dealing with. Parameters are well within limits.

That's odd limped are the only snail that normally remove coraline thougg

Maybe, but the tank has been set up for so long that I'm pretty sure everything is accounted for. (I could be wrong though) This golf ball size Trochus snail has just become a MONSTER, eating everything in it's path so to say. I was just curios if anybody else has ever noticed this before.
