Banded Worm ID

Curing some live rock and found this worm while trying to capture a Eunice worm that is eluding me.
Longer piece is main body, smaller is bit of tail that broke during removal. The black line is cat hair...

Look familiar to anyone?

Roughly 2 inches long and about 1/16th of an inch thick. This is the second time I've seen it in the early evening. It is not nearly as fast or reactive as a Eunice worm, but is more mobile than your typical bristle worm.

New one to me any ideas?

Was able to find one reference image placing it as a polynoid (scale worm) likely of genus Lepidasthenia. Info I can find says predator. I'll give him till tomorrow to hear other info, then he might have to move along...

Personally, I'd toss it. If you can't get a positive id. than it's better safe than sorry. There's plenty of harmless CUC members you can add. You don't need questionable worms.

Pretty much how I feel about it, no need to gamble.

Wrasses eat worms so if you want them gone, they'll start eating

If it has scales Polynoidae. No scales Hesionidae
