Bangai Cardinal missing tail

Today, I noticed that one of mine Bangai Cardinal fish is missing a piece of its tail. I believe the Springeri damsel took a bite of it. Will it grow back? Is it damaged for life? It appears to not swim as smooth as before. Thanks for any information.

It will heal as long as the damsel does not continue nipping.
