I have a gorgeous Bangaii Cardinal male. He's huge. He's dominant. He did not like the most female looking Bangaii I could find added to the tank. That one died. I suspect the LRS tank was full of males and the owner and I picked the most beta male out of the group. The fish was corralled to the corner and starved within two weeks.

What if I add a BUNCH of new Bangaiis (err Bangai plural?) at once. Surely Mr. Testosterone couldn't abuse them all. Eventually he'd pair off and I could transfer the rest somewhere else. They are ridiculously easy to catch....

It’s extremely difficult near to impossible even to the trained eye to sex. But I have noticed myself very small differences. The female will have a slightly longer body shape. When she’s Travis the lower abdomen seems to darken as it enlarges.
