My Banggai cardinal is dying I have no idea what going on he was eating fine he was getting along with the fish and then bam the first one died and then now he’s dying do you know what is making him like this and how I can help him make it through

Going to need a lot more information:
Tank age?
Tankmates?
Most recent addition?
When most recent addition came in?
How does the fish look?
How was the fish acting?
Parameters (actual numbers)?
Pictures would help a lot.

Tank age it’s pretty new it’s been 3 months
Tank mates it was with another pajama cardinal two clowns and 1 starfish my most recent was the pajama cardinal it came pretty fresh but it was for pairing for the Banggai and they seemed to pair pretty well they both stayed together and were fine
It looked the same just barely swimming and laying on its side and breathing fast it’s in a 24 x12 x16 I don’t have any pictures of it because he died pretty fast it was just a few strokes of his fins and he’s stopped breathing and all

In many cases if two males, they will fight til death.
Other causes can be:
Ammonia spike
High nitrates
Warm temperature
low or high salinity

Any pics of fish -at least the one still alive (under white lighting )
Is the fish breathing rapidly ?
