Please share your experiences with banggai cardinals with me! How are they with shrimp? How are they with peaceful fish?

They are very peaceful fish and fine with shrimp.

I've got one, one of the absolute most beautiful fish IMO. Not fancy colors like some of the fish, but something about them just drew me in. Mine has shown no aggression to any other fish in the tank, leaves my peppermint and cleaner shrimp alone, and eats from the air line on the end of a syringe that I use to feed them. I have seen numerous people report problems with keeping multiple bangaii's in the same tank (at least smaller tanks less than 75g), but I only have one and can't comment on that. I will say mine was in a tank with 8 or 9 others in the store and didn't seem to have a problem with them.

i had a pair, but could not get them to eat consistently. would eat frozen one day and pick at it the next. never could get them on pellets, and ended up passing. def one of the more interesting fish in the hobby.

They do great with shrimp and are peaceful twords other tank mates. They are however aggressive twords their own kind and should only be kept in a male/female pair. Members of the same sex will kill each other off. They also readily breed in captivity and are mouth brooders. Very interesting fish to keep IMO.

Since you asked for an opinion, I would share mine. Honestly they do not do much for me. They are like robots that just stay in one place and almost look like showpieces. Again, this is just my opinion and my experience.

They get boring after a while ..

If you like the looks, go for it.
