What is the best way to raise Banzai Cardinals?
Banghai are awesome looking under the right lights
Best to get in odd numbers 3, 5 and so forth. From the group, expect fighting and even a death but will pan out to a pair

I bought two Banggai Cardinals two years ago sometimes one of them will hide out in the back of the tank and not eat . Could this be the male holding eggs in his mouth? I have never seen eggs in either of there mouths just curious.

Hard to say, If it is a male and he is holding eggs for a period of time, he will not eat while doing so.

There is other fish in the tank. If I wanted to raise some Banggai Cardinals do they need to be in a separate system?

Are the Banggai Cardinals like clown fish where one will become the female ?

Not at first, but You would have to strategically move the male to a separate tank (avoiding him swallowing the babys for them to grow up in. Once he releases them from his mouth you have to remove them. You would also have to have the food source for the babies read upon their release.

Thank you, I will read up on the thread you posted.

never saw my cardinal carry
the eggs. went to the sump one day and saw one Banggai Cardinal in the sump. i also saw some other fry in the sump also. im guessing the other fry might be dalmation mollies since one of the mollys in my dt is no longer around. still have 4 in my dt. im also hoping my valentino puffers breed. that will be interesting to see. but for the fry I can't really tell at this point what kind of fish they are as there still to young to tell what they are.
