I have a mated pair of Banggai. They have mated 5 times and all 5 times the male has swallowed the eggs after a few days. Any ideas on how I can help get him to carry to term? They are in my 90 reef display tank. Do I need to put them in a tank by themselves? Please help.

Agreed with above. They do eat their own if hungry enough. Feed various foods, meaty types, pellets, flakes before spawning or all the time actually.

They are mouth brooders, so the young (and eggs) are carried in the mouth of a parent until they are deemed old enough to survive on their own. If they are being swallowed prematurely then the eggs are most likely not healthy or fertilized.

I found a small fish in my sump. Never even knew it was in the making. It's still hanging in there after 4 weeks swimming next to skimmer intake. Go figure? I wonder about the rest or the next batch and how it made it through the filter socks and the trip through the return. Life wants to live... And will defy all odds. You can it's size next to eggcrate
My parents are in a 240 with blonde naso, blue hippo, sail fin tangs, 3 blue chromis 4 clowns, a diamond goby, lawnmower blenny, flame angle, neon dotty back, a purple lobster and a common cleaner wrasse and maybe another harmless fish or two
