Not sure if it was harassed by another or what but it has been at the front corner of the tank, about 6" below water line and is head standing. (I did get a new CUC yesterday but no water was transferred.) I did see it swim to eat when I fed tonight. Is not really showing any sign of tilting to its side. Just in the past 15 minutes, there appears t be some dropsy. Should I remove it from the DT? I have PimaFix, Melafix, Furan-2 and that's about it. Let's here what you think I should do! Oh, My Flame Hawkfish disappeared 3 days ago but it's a long shot if it is related in any way

I would remove it or at least put it in an acclimation box. You say it has dropsy? Bloated stomach??

Thanks for the reply! I do not think it has dropsy but it may be in the early stage of it because when it she stops swimming (in place), she does tend to sink some. I have removed it to the frag tank . Two other Banghaii's had just cornered her to pick on her :9( She doesn't have a bloated stomach but she may have a mild case of popeye from brief inspection.. I will treat her in the morning if she is still showing signs of problems.

If you end up QT'ing her, might not be a bad idea to run her thru a mild antibiotic such as kanamycin i.e. Kanaplex.

Thanks! I put her In the frag tank and added PimaFix and MelaFix. Only have Furan-2 on hand so will need to order the Kanaplex. She's not bad but I'm sure it's her air/swim bladder. Didn't see her eat today. I will QT her wen I get the Kanaplex. Thanks for the help!!

Probably a shot in the dark... but trying feeding a peeled boiled pea.

I thought of that! I'll try tomorrow as lights are out now. I'll try to make it bite size! Lol I think those 2 other Banghaii's must have picked on her after the lights went out, as they tried last night:0( I started with 6 several months ago and slowly they are being picked on I believe. Makes me very mad!

I'm guessing it was just getting picked on. As juveniles bangaii will live in groups, but once they mature and start to pair off they stop playing nice. This sounds like what has been going on in your tank. So, unless you have a big tank I wouldn't keep more than a pair of bangaii cardinals.

HTH,
Tom

I'm pretty sure you are correct Tom. All were bought very small. They are in a180g tank but it appears that it isn't big enough :9( The male was jus holding so their is a pair. With removing the one to the frag tank, there are 3 left in the 180. Hopefully I can find the loner and remove it before it becomes the new target! I really thought the 180 would be big enough! I think it is but don't have enough fish in it yet. Thoughs?

It is better today:0) She is able to stay afloat when not swimming and is no longer having any issues with head-sanding! Yay! I tried to feed her a pea but she did not eat it or anything today:9( This was day 2 that she has not eaten:9( I may add some extra garlic to the food. Hopefully I can get her to eat.

I am pleased to report that the Banghaii is totally back to normal! Yay!! I received the Kanaplex today. At least now I will have the medication available just in case :0) Thanks Humble for the medicaton suggestion!!
