Bare bottem questions

Thank you vary much for your advice! very useful information! thankfuly for my i run ROX carbon and i just got a kickin new skimmer. i have a thread that im going to update with nod and issues.. redplanet why didn't you put the original cycled water back in the tank? also how did you come to the decision of doing this all at once? this defiantly reinforces the decision to take the sand out in quarters every week. iv been pondering putting some of it in the fuge but i dont have a chamber for it and the sand would be right next to my return any thing i can do to fix this? also troylee where can u get more acrylic solvent i think im addicted now, thanks Avast Marine!!!

When I say alot of flow,he knows what I mean,he has a SPS dom system,so he has alot of flow,if he has a SPS dom tank, there is enough flow to keep detritus off of the rocks no proble,he has 5500 GPH in his 75.
I like a lot of flow too. I have over 10,000 gph in my 80 which is sps dominated. Still end up with detritus accumulating in the corner and under/between rocks

I didn't want to put the other water in, because it had been in the tank for awhile. I figured "why not do a water change and take out all the sand and rearrange the rocks at the same time?" Obviously, that was a bad idea for a couple of reasons.

It was wayyyy to much change for the tank. If you think about it, our animals are actually pretty delicate, for example. The ocean on and around the great barrier reef has taken 10,000 years to change by 2 degrees and besides for the crown of thorns starfish, the temperature is wrecking havoc on the reefs. Sooo, for the ph to swing and the Nitrate to jump...I am not surprised that it killed a bunch of pieces.

Good question on the acrylic solvent. I need to fix my Reef Octopus Pro 250 skimmer. Please let me know, so I can order some too.

Thanks!
