Im about to set up a 60 cube and wanna go bare bottom, should i paint the bottom black or white though? I know black absorbs light and white reflects in so not sure, any colors better than having algae grow in my sump i guess :P

Here's a Bare Bottom that was painted white:

Ultimately coraline will grow over it. Plain glass has a nice look if you keep it clean, i think white looks good also. The coraline actually comes up pretty easily in my system, so I'll clean to bottom every few months.

thanks guys I'm really liking the look of the white kinda gives the sand appearance without the hassle lol

Very true, it does look nice and low maintenance. However, I don't think I could get past seeing that giant hunk of clear silicone running along the middle of the tank like that, especially with coral sitting on it. That's just my own personal taste though.
