So my 8 gal qt is still cycling it’s been 2 months so far I’ve noticed that the glass and the bottom of the tank seem to have all these little white particles on them the water looks dirty with particles floating around is this normal the cycle isn’t registering any ammonia any more just nitrite I feel like I am getting close to the end this is my first time with a qt as my Dt has already cycled a month ago ammonia 0 nitrite .1-25 ph 8.0 any info would help thanks

Can I clean the glass and the bottom of the tank will it affect the beneficial bacteria and prolong my cycle

Do you have a hob filter or a sponge? That's where your bacteria would reside. When my pvc starts looking nappy I take it out and rinse it off. I also vacuum as much off the bottom as I can. On top of weekly 5g water changes(20g qt), I also vacuum leftover food/waste with airline tubing or extra ro/di tubing daily and replace what little water I've taken

I do have a sponge in there I also put some filtered floss in th other day to try and trap whatever is floating around

You said ammonia is zero. What are your nitrites and nitrates at?

Nitrite is still reading .25 I haven’t been testing nitrates yet cause it’s not cycled I have been using pure ammonia from dr tims for the cycle

The only worry I have is this tank useto be a tank with dino cleaned it out with fresh water and bleach let it dry completely and made it a qt tank I just hope they didn’t survive somehow and that’s what’s coming back there’s no strings or anything idk hope it’s not

Looks normal. QT tanks really don't need lights and it'll help keep the algae down. Once the cycles completes I'd get one of those glass cleaners with a handle and go after all that algae. Do a water change after you scrub everything and you should be ready to add fish.
