Ok so I went bb on my 40 b I have crazy green algae growth on the bottom I want it to cover with coraline should I scrape it off or let it go?

get a cleanup crew on that and make sure your nutrient levels are in check. snails should mow down any algae on the bottom

I would just leave it alone. As your tank gets older and older this nuisance algae your seeing will most likely be replaced by coralline anyways. (under the right conditions of course) A CUC might help, but maintaining good water quality will be key. GL.

rule of thumb is 1 snail per gallon of tank. I have like 100 snails in my 75. look up some clean up crew packs on reefs2go or other websites. that'll give you a good idea at what you should get

Do I need a fuge or can I do without

If your not planning on keeping a specialized feeder such as a mandarin in the tank then you can do without. Regular water changes and an efficient skimmer can go a long way sometimes. GL.

Ya I need to purchase a skimmer ..I used to have a 120 gallon tank but my ex wife decided to keep it so I started a 40 b for my daughter on a poor man's budget so I'm building it up little by little
