So the new tank is cycling and I'm going bare bottom this time. I have a melanurus and leopard wrasse in the temporary tank. I'm looking for an ideal box for their sand in their new home. I can build one, but looking for some ideas as for dimensions? I was thinking like 10x10x3"? If I get more leopards I may make another similar sized one. Mainly I'm concerned about the depth so they feel comfortable and not cramped with two of them and maybe more in the future.

Thoughts?

At least 2” depth.

I made these up out of spare abs 1/4" sheet that I had from the bare bottom project. 12x12x3.5 and 12x10x3.5. They're not the most attractive, but should be plenty of room in the back for my melanurus and leopard.
