Is this reef safe just want to confirm, pretty sure it is. Looked into starboard but way more expensive. Its for a 48 x 24 tank

Should be reef safe as polyethylene doesn't really break down or react with anything. Just wash it off first just in case anything clung to it in the manufacturing process
 
You could have honestly just put a cut to fit piece of lexan fiberglass. It's 10x stronger than glass and it would have provided the bottom you need for both the weight and protection against potential cracking or scratching
