Barebottom

My live rock sits directly on the bottom of my tank, with live sand around it. I've done it this way, through at least 6 tanks, with no issues at all. I've seen lots of people use egg crate, starboard, pvc frames, and nothing at all. All seem to work just fine.

from your liverock I'm assuming? but yea I've never seen anyone put something there to protect it. And I haven't either.

My frag tank is bare bottom and I have nothing on it..... BUT .....I hate it! Next time I make a dry goods order I'm getting some sand to put in it..........

but it's a frag tank...that's why you have a DT! :xd:

I know of 1 tank that's barebottom and its his DT he says he dosent miss sand he is more about corals than fish and says its easier to storm the tank and clean out I personally would never go barebottom dosent seem like a reef tank without the sand especially since I'm a wrasse lover

I've seen many bare bottomed tanks, with the bottom covered in coralline algae, and they look STUNNING!!
