Bargain bin coral ID help...

Hello! Made some purchases the other day and the gent wasn't sure what this was on the bargain rack and the main guy was gone. Any one have any thoughts?

Pretty sure that's a cyphastrea (LPS). I have the exact same coral - only a bit bigger. Mine was sold as a "meteor shower", but I think they go under different names.

Awesome, thank you! It was sitting with a bunch of red monti and lepto so I thought I better inquire further since I'm rather new to this. Appreciate the quick reply!

It's proven to be very resilient! It's probably grown 15-25% in the 6 months or so that I've had it. I have mine in about 125-150 PAR and it seems to be doing well with that.

Can't lie I bought it because it was 15 bucks and reminds me of Rick N Morty lol

Yup Meteor shower Cyphstrea. It encrusts in a very thin layer over your rockwork and then starts building skeleton, kinda works like coraline, but has potential to sting corals.
