A friend of me ask me what he can do about the high level of Barium, (setpoint 10, analyses 139)
His Fe (iron) is high too (setpoint 0.0, analyses 6.73)
Does a Detox work on both or just on Iron?

Is he dosing iron?

I've not seen anyone with elevated levels. It should deplete quite rapidly. It does in my tank, even though I dose.

I do not know how well detox works on barium, but I would guess not well, since it looks very much like calcium and magnesium and strontium, just bigger and at very much lower concentrations.

I know he's dosing ZEOvit, will ask him what he all is dosing.
His tank is SPS dominate and on the moment he's experiences some slow STN from bottom up.

Sorry to bump this old thread, but looking for some help. My triton is showing everything good except high iron (8ppm). I am also experiencing slow STN from the base up. I WAS using KZ coral booster and KZ phols xtra special, but stopped.

What did your friend do to fix the issue?

Yup definitely meant ppb :)

It will probably decline on its own. I regularly dosed 1-2 ppb, and then left it for a while, and last time I tested by Triton about a week later than dosing, none was detectable.

Assuming there is nothing in the tank generating it, right? Though, it seems like it something was rusting other chemicals (like tin) would be elevated as well? I do have a bunch of travertine tiles in the tank but I would think there would some brown on them if iron was a concern.
