Pulled this rock out of the sump to prop Chowda on...

And discovered this...

Still.think its the botton hinge of a bi valve...watch the slit on the other side and see if it opens.

Anything more specific?... I haven’t found any images of it on the web (hitchhiker is websites, etc)...

There’s not much to see on the other side, but I did sneak up on it with a flashlight after lights out, last night, and saw it react to the light... the whole thing moved, quickly, towards the rock...

I’m wondering about its care and whether it should go back to the sump or if it’s ok where it is...
 
They filter feed and mostly die off but i have one alive for 3 years now. When you feed your fish and corals your feeding him too.
 
Found these images online... The underside and the fringe look like it may be a match, but Arciidae appears to be a family of moths...
