I have a new torch that has a barnacle firmly embedded in the skeleton of one of the heads. I didn't take a picture, but here is a picture online that looks pretty much the same, with the same result that the polyps are not extending near the active barnacle:

From what I've seen online this is somewhat common, but it is definately irritating the coral and I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to superglue the barnacle? It can't be manually removed because the coral's skeleton has partially enveloped it.

They usually don't live that long in our tanks.

My self I would keep and enjoy it while it lasts. Corals grow new heads.

But a drop of putt and glue will probaly works.

Same on my torch i got at RAP NY. Totally awesome, but as salty said, they do not last too long. I was stumped and scared for a while, trying to figure what it was.

I have had them come in on Acropora and pose no harm.
