Hey all

My Barracuda return pump just blew it's seal, and leaked like my plumbing all over the place (I have a nice 360 degree brown line of sprayed water where it was hitting the spinning shaft)

Got the seal kit, took it apart with some effort as the ceramic bearing had seized onto the shaft, problem i now have is that the small washer everyone and the instructions mention is either missing or more likely corroded away, anyone know the size? or where to get them from?

Fortunately I made the connections for my return and closed loop identical so am running my closed loop Dart in it's place until I repair or replace :(

Any help appreciated

Anton

I've been running Darts for many years and have done the seal swap at least a half a dozen times..sorry I'm not sure what the exact size it is, but that washer is just a plain stainless steal flat washer and can be found at most hardwares stores or if your not sure just contact Reeflo and they'll send it to you.....I clean my pump every 5-6 months and I use an old toothbrush to clean the shaft, seals and especially the spring on the loaded side of the seal. This will prolong the life of the seals by keeping it's tension and preventing all that rust, corrosion and calcium deposits which will cause it to seize and fail.

I would agree with Mike, and would suggest contacting Reeflo. You can reach them at 877-378-6798. I hope this helps.
