I'm going to have my display tank drain into the basement where I'll have my sump and other equipment. I want to build the stand that everything will sit on, but want to keep it up off of the floor a little just if there is ever any water that gets in on the floor. The basement floor is concrete, and I was thinking about just pouring a 3-4" thick concrete footer where each leg would go.
My question is: should I use some sort of bonding agent to stick the new to the old concrete? The floor is pretty level so no big slant to slide against. Also, my thinking was that since the tank and equipment is pretty much a straight down force, that should be good. Am I way off?
