So after being out of the hobby for 10 years I purchase a new 425xl today. I am thinking about doing a basement sump - which I have no experience on. I want to run a Apex system to monitor/control the tank. I know they have the COR 20 - but I’ve got to go about 12 feet (max) and with loss I’m thinking it won’t be powerful enough a or maybe not? So I need a few recommendations - I would rather a submersible pump and something I can control fully via the Apex. Anyone have any good ideas running a similar set up?

How many feet of head are you looking at?

Pressure rated pumps are best. Iwaki, Blueline, Panworld......etc.

Just went and measured. If sump is 3 feet off the ground it’s 5 feet up through the floor and about another 4.5 to top of tank so figure 10ft total from pump to tank.

Why would you spend that much money (on an Abyzz) for a basement pump???

My last Iwaki lasted over twenty years.

Iwaki’s are great pumps, but comparing the 2 is no where near apples to apples

He's doing a basement setup.
I'm not spending that kind of money unless it was in my den... :)

I went with the large Eflux pump as it has more head pressure than the Vectra and I wanted internal. The Abyzz would be a great choice but the are very pricey.

Shame on me shame shame. I'll hold my head down in shame and say this.
I run a jebao 18000. 4000gph and holds 30' head.

I shouldn’t need to have any - could do flex PVC all the way down - should have enough flex to get out of the stand and straight down to the pump.
That's good, just thought I would add that in since I didn't know it myself until someone let me know about it.

Thanks - found the eFlux 6011 and looks like it can push the distance no problem. How long have you had yours - any issues?

Been running it since September 2017 and I got it when it was on sale for 229. I don't have to run it at full speed either, which I like. I got a second one used locally for 100 so I have a backup when I want to clean it. The Varios 8 wasn't out then and it doesn't push as much at 10 feet of HP but the Eflux is not Apex controllable as far as I know. But, I never turn it off unless I am doing a water change anyways.
