Basement sump

My sump is located in my basement, 12 feet below my 180g mixed reef.
Is there any special considerations (except head height) that need to be considered when the sump is not directly below?

Only one that I can think of: when pumping to and from the sump, make sure that there aren't many flat sections, and they're angled, that way you don't run the risk of water getting stagnant in the pipes if the power shuts off.
