Have 0ne 0f these along with a 4 x 18 media reactor that was a wrong order but did not want to return. I would like to use one for GFO and the other for Carbon. Other than that I know only what I read the only experience I have is using a BRS reactor.

Any help on set up would be apprieated

Thx Phil

I have always used BRS reactors and just recently purchased two of the 4X12s also. Set up is pretty much exactly the same as the BRS reactors.....there really aren't any major differences. Did you need help with anything specific?

I have two of those reactors sitting in my garage right now. I used them for carbon and GFO. You have to be very careful with those reactors. They are a bottom up flow. If you look at the top plate it’s held in place with an O-ring. As the carbon gets dirty it puts pressure on the ring and starts pushing it up the tube and now your carbon is not held in place. I learned the hard way and ended up with a sump full of ROX. In my opinion the BRS reactors are bullet proof. I went back to them after that incident.

HI and thx do you use the same amounts that BRS recomends?
Yes, I would use the same amounts.......regardless of what reactor you use, the amounts shouldn't change. If you are starting to use if for the first time, you might want to start with half the recommended amounts so that you don't shock your system.
