Hi
Basic guide/experience in regards to feeding frozen food cubes, how many per fish etc?

This really boils down to the size and type of fish. That being said, I have 12 fish (I think) and I don't think I've ever fed more than two cubes.....I am a light feeder. I will also tell you that a friend had a tank with multiple fish, and he would put the cube in frozen, and his lion fish would eat the entire cube in one gulp.....brain freeze! I thaw mine first and then squire it in using a turkey baster. Maybe start with the rule of what they can eat within three to five minutes.

If I used what mine could eat in 3-5 minutes it would be 6-7 cubes. LOL, they're pigs!

As is I feed three cubes or the equivalent in LRS frozen. I have 14 fish including 7 wrasse(4 fairy, 1 flasher, 1 leopard, 1 halichoeres), 2 clowns, 1 Copper Band Butterfly, 1 Pyramid Butterfly, 1 Atlantic Blue tang (2.5"), 1 firefish and 1 Azure damsel (2").

I thaw 5 or 6 cubes of different types of food along with a touch of powdered coral food in a jar of water and use a turkey baster to squirt some in the tank 3-4 times a day. The jar will last 3-4 days.

Most reef fish are designed to eat frequent, small meals. To maximize feeding and minimize waste, I find feeding only what the fish can consume in 10-20 seconds, a few times a day. I space my feedings about an hr apart from when I get home from work till lights out.

I pop all the cubes out and put them in a ZipLock, then let them thaw a bit so i can make a sheet within the bag and break out the amount i need. I don't have large fish and only have 6 fish so 1 cube would be to much at once. Makes it easier and cleaner.

I use an 1L Erlenmeyer flask I put the 30 or so cubes in and add ro water to thaw. I store in fridge in between feedings.
