My royal gramma basslet keeps covering a capricornis I have on the sand with sand. I uncover it each day and place it back in the sand and by 5 o clock it is reburied. Even if I move the coral somewhere else he does it. Why is he doing this? I have two basslets and it is the huge one that does it, the tiny one just likes to watch. They are buddy buddy like a pair if clowns, I'm guessing they are wanting to spawn or something but what does burying a cap have to do with that? It is causing this coral to slowly die :(

I had a damsel that used to do the same thing to my pagoda. Not sure of the reason behind it, but is there any way you could raise the cap a few inches off of the sandbed?

haha I love royal gramma basslets... sorry I'm sure its not good for the coral but they do the corkiest things, I had one grab a hermit crab by his shell swim with him and throw it at a damsel. I think royal gramma basslet pairs work great together. I was told they wouldn't but they always seem teamed up in my aquarium
