I have a Harlequin Basslet that has delayed a growth under is gill flap. It makes his flap stick out a little bit. It has not affected his eating yet but he does seam to hide more often. Has anybody seen something like this?

I agree that it looks like either a tumor or an injury. Has he been quarantined? How long have you had him and what kind of behavioral symptoms does he have? Is he a digger by any chance?Also did it happen all of a sudden or did it come on slowly? Is it getting bigger?

Looks like a tumor of some sort to me as well. I don't know of any ways to treat for that. You could attempt to treat wtih antibiotics but no guarantees that it would work.
