This algae can survive without light!

Background: I use water from the ocean which is near a river with very clean fresh water which only has SG of 1.018 so I store it in a plastic bin for a week to evaporate to 1.024 before using it for the tank. I keep liverock in it to remove any ammonia which may come from the ocean. When a liverock from my main tank ends up with too much algae to control I swap it out with the liverock in the reservoir. The liverock not only had some tube worms that survived 2 weeks without much light, but also some algae.

Can anyone identify this algae? Have I created a batman problem? Killing off all the villains and leaving myself with only supervillains!

I’d get water further away from the river. What may look clean could have fertilizers which have run off into the water, which may end up feeding the algae to beyond what you can control.

Usually it’s best to get water away from shore anyway. All the nasties wash up on shore, even if the water looks crystal clear.
