Hey, new to generators & big battery’s, is this a good brand? I like that’s it can be charged on solar so I can use it for anything including apocalypse lol but is there anything that does the same for cheaper? or a better more reliable brand?

You just want a big battery with inverter?

AIMS POWER PICOGLF12W12V120AL Green 1250W Power Inverter Charger with Transfer Switch (12VDC to 120VAC) $600

and then find a 100ah battery for $200 and you can always keep adding more batteries if you need them.

Or just get a gas powered inverted generator.

I'm in the process of putting together a system myself and still doing research. There is one thing I do know however from everything I've read and experienced myself with other systems. Run anything directly from the battery that requires DC power without going through an inverter. There are huge losses when you go from DC to AC and then back to DC again. Even the most efficient inverters and power bricks lose a lot.
Also 100Ah at 12v is not the same as 100Ah at 24v so keep that in mind when you are reading specs on batteries and whatnot.

It's kinda the wild west when it comes to some of this stuff so just do your research. The solar community has a lot of good info. When it comes to stuff built for aquariums there isn't much. Telegraham on IG/Youtube has some good info and has built stuff himself. If you want a mostly plug in and go setup then look at the Reef Boxx at puddle aquatics. I think I'm going to get one myself actually. The guy who builds them is super helpful and will answer any questions you have on how his device might work for you.

Good luck and have fun!
