I have had my ice cap battery backup for about a year. Past few days the power supply is making a high pitched humming noise. The battery itself works fine but this high pitched hum is driving me insane. It is a ac input 100-240 volt, dc output 13.5 volt. I cant find replacements specifically for this...I even tried the coralvue website. I refuse to spend 110 bucks to buy the whole thing, any ideas where to look

The best option is probably to contact the manufacturer and ask if they can sell you a replacement, or ask where you can buy a replacement.

Having said that, you probably could use just about any 13.5V power supply that has the same plug size. Looking at the topography of the Icecap battery backup, it looks like the 13.5V power supply is only responsible for charging the battery. Some 13.5V power supplies retail for as little as $10 on Ebay. These supplies provide less current than the stock Icecap supply, so they'll take longer to charge the battery after an outage. But, I'd be surprised if the battery inside this thing is more than a 7 - 18 Ah. Even with a 1A power supply (a third of the stock supply), you should be fully charged in less than 24 hours.

Note, using a non-approved power supply might void your warranty. But, it's certainly an option.

Thank you. Maybe I will open up a support ticket on coralvue site, if they cant help then I will look for just a power supply online. I appreciate the feedback
