My reef tank is a 40 breeder with an Aquaclear 70 HOB and dual Coral Box QPS5 wavemakers.
Living in South Florida, power outages are a common occurance. I have a generator for long term outages but wanted something for the pesky 1-3 hour outages.
I could not find any info on using this product as a short term backup for aquarium use so I acquired one and performed two unscientific tests.
These are the results using a Milwaukee M18 Power Inverter and a 5.0 amp M18 battery.
Test One - The Aquaclear 70 plugged directly into the inverter ran for 7 hours.
Test Two - The Aquaclear 70 and the dual wavemakers plugged into the inverter via a no frills power strip ran for 4.5 hours.

This does not include a charger, which is available on Amazon for about $30.00.
